Arkansas Voters To Decide Alcohol Ballot Issue

LITTLE ROCK — Voters will decide in November whether to approve a constitutional amendment to make beer, wine and liquor available for sale statewide, which would do away with Arkansas’ patchwork system of dry, wet and “damp” counties that’s been in place for decades.

Crawford Wants COOL Rule Amended

WASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. Rick Crawford, R-Jonesboro, says the United States should revise its country-of-origin labeling rule after the World Trade Organization ruled in favor of Canada and Mexico in an ongoing dispute over the requirement that grocery stores indicate the country, or countries, where meat was born, raised and slaughtered.

LITTLE ROCK — In a news conference Friday, U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark., called on President Barack Obama to institute a temporary ban on travel to the U.S. from three Ebola-plagued West African countries and outlined other steps he said are needed to protect Americans from the deadly virus.
