The Science Behind the Atlantic G&G Decision:  The August Science Notes describes the science behind the recent Record of Decision on Geological and Geophysical (G&G) Activities in the Mid- and South Atlantic​, and aims to clear up a few misperceptions.

BOEM senior managers and scientists toured the NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer in Baltimore, Md. Use of the Okeanos through the BOEM/NOAA partnership advances ocean science and BOEM’s environmental science mission. Discoveries in the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic include shipwrecks, gas seeps and chemosynthetic communities.
