NorthPark Watch Week

It’s hard to believe that Partners Card is over and the holidays are around the corner. But you still have time to beat the holiday shopping crush, and you would do well to visit the stores listed below. We won’t tell if you only stock up for yourself.

Akola
At her new flagship shop in Deep Ellum, social entrepreneur Brittany Underwood sells jewelry and other fashion accessories created by the women of her Akola Project, a nonprofit and social business that empowers women living in Uganda. One hundred percent of the net proceeds are returned to Akola’s development projects in Uganda and Dallas.

Arhaus
NorthPark Center’s newest addition opens November 14, located between Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom on the upper level. The selection includes upholstered furniture and exclusive collections handmade from artisans all over the world — all produced with eye on sustainability. From opening day through December 15, Arhaus will be donating 5 percent of every sale to the Ronald McDonald House. This is the fourth Arhaus in Texas.

Double R
Double R, the custom clothing line from Jen and Ravi Ratan, gets a new retail space this month at the Plaza at Preston Center, next to Matthew Trent. The relaxed space allows customers to see all the options in person — from classic, boyfriend and relaxed-fit tops to shirtdresses, all available in countless fabrics and guaranteed to fit perfectly.

Elaine Turner
After opening her first Dallas-area store in Southlake this past weekend, Houston designer Elaine Turner will open a second at the Shops of Legacy later this month. In addition to her signature styles, you can shop the holiday collection, featuring gold metallic and velvet shoes, bags and accessories guaranteed to make holiday parties just a little more fun.

Glass Optical
This hip new optical shop, located along a hopping boulevard in Oak Cliff, also has an onsite lab, but it feels nothing like a doctor’s office. Co-owner and optometrist Steven Wilkes can match your prescription to a cool new set of frames. Glass Optical is the only store in Texas that carries eyewear by Massada, Sons + Daughters and Moscot.

H&M
Beginning November 6, budget-conscious fashionistas can finally get their hands on some threads designed by the incomparable Alexander Wang. The Alexander Wang x H&M collection features edgy sportswear and athletic gear with Wang’s branding, from leggings, sweatshirts and jackets to skin-tight dresses and a badass suede bootie for $299.

Nicole Kwon Concept Store
Fashion-forward South Korean designer Nicole Kwon, who has a shop at West Village, has opened a temporary boutique in the Shops at Legacy featuring exclusive collections from progressive designers. Lines include Love & Lemons, Rachel Comey, Clover Canyon, Stone Cold Fox and Mother Denim. The holiday pop-up is open until December 31.

NorthPark Center Watch Week
Timepiece junkies get their fix from November 13-16, when NorthPark holds its first-ever Watch Week. Expect events, exhibits and presentations from the mall’s luxury watch retailers, representing the finest brands in the world: Bulgari, Cartier, Tag Heuer, Rolex, Hublot, Tourbillon and more.

7 For all Mankind
All the Wire co-founders Desiree Cox and Tori Gonzales (from Bravo’s Courtney Loves Dallas) created a gold-filled jewelry collection exclusively for 7FAM, centered around the word “obsessed” to highlight the brand’s fall campaign, #7Obsession. These pieces are only available in Dallas and Houston.

Unbranded
Dallas menswear entrepreneurs Matt Alexander (Need) and Bryan DeLuca (Foot Cardigan) have opened a pop-up shop in Deep Ellum, offering retail and work space to up-and-coming brands, artists and other creative types through the end of the year. The tenants rotate every week or so — the first round includes Of Mud & Coal leather goods and Quixotic pocket squares — and prime shopping hours are 3-7 pm. You can also hang out and drink coffee from Tweed or booze from local distillers.
