Chinati’s new special exhibition by Zoe Leonard, 100 North Nevill Street, is open to the public with regular viewing hours each week.
Amazon customers have requested to support the Chinati Foundation through AmazonSmile. The Chinati Foundation will receive point five percent of the purchase price of an Amazon order when customers select the museum as their charitable organization of choice when purchasing online at AmazonSmile.
The Chinati Foundation is pleased to announce a much-anticipated addition to its permanent collection—a large-scale installation by Robert Irwin.
In October 2014, Chinati opened an exhibition of work by artist Larry Bell. The exhibition focuses on Bell’s large freestanding glass sculptures, a type of work that he first showed in 1969 and continued to develop and exhibit until the late nineteen-nineties.
Thomas Eggerer will be the year’s last artist in residence at the Chinati Foundation, working in Marfa for the months of November and December.
Self-guided viewing on Donald Judd’s 100 works in mill aluminum and 15 outdoor works in concrete. Free to Chinati members.
Architects Sharon Johnston and Mark Lee will give a talk about their work at the Crowley Theater at 8:00 PM in downtown, Marfa. The talk is part of the Chinati Presents series and is free to the public.
All students ages 4 – 13 are invited to the Chinati Foundation’s free annual winter art classes, December 29 and 30, 2014 and January 2 and 3, 2015.
