THOMAS EGGERER
Thomas Eggerer will be the year’s last artist in residence at the Chinati Foundation, working in Marfa for the months of November and December. He was born in Munich and lives and works in New York. Eggerer is a painter (he also makes drawings and collages), whose subjects often including figures (behaving socially) and fragments of architecture (serving formally) that are situated within fields of abstracted, expressive and saturated color. Eggerer has been exhibiting his work internationally for 20 years, was a former member of the New York-based collective Group Material, and also teaches at Bard College.
