The U.S. Census Bureau released a Special Tabulation of Citizen Voting Age Population (CVAP) from the 2008-2012 American Community Survey (ACS). District-level reports have been updated with the new CVAP estimates for the current and 2014 election districts.

The 83rd Legislature, 1st Called Session, passed S.B. 2, the current Senate plan (PlanS172), and S.B. 4, the current
Congressional plan (PlanC235). The senate and congressional districts enacted by the legislature are identical to the interim districts ordered by the U.S.
District Court for the Western District of Texas.
The Legislature passed S.B. 3, a new House plan (PlanH358) that makes changes to 14 house districts in Dallas, Harris, Tarrant, and Webb Counties; other
districts in the state are identical to the interim districts ordered by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas. Additional maps and

The districts for the 2013–2014 legislative and congressional sessions were ordered by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.

October 30, 2014 - Trial briefs for the portion of Perez v. Perry involving the 2011 state house and congressional plans were filed with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.
August 11-16, 2014 - The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas will hear evidence in Perez v. Perry regarding the 2011 congressional districts (PlanC185).
July 29, 2014 - The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas will hear closing arguments in the 2011 state house of representatives portion of Perez v. Perry and hold a pretrial conference for the 2011 congressional portion of Perez v. Perry in San Antonio at 8:30 a.m.
July 14-19, 2014 - The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas heard evidence in Perez v. Perry regarding the 2011 state house of representatives districts (PlanH283).
June 25, 2014 - The hearing on the challenge to the Texas senate map is set for June 25 at 9:00 a.m. in Austin.
June 6, 2014 - The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas entered an order setting the dates for hearing the evidence on the 2011 Texas House plan in the first segment of the Perez v. Perry trial from Monday, July 14, 2014, to Saturday, July 19, 2014.
April 21, 2014 - The Project on Fair Representation (POFR) filed a lawsuit against the State of Texas (Evenwel v. Perry) challenging Texas Senate Districts 1 and 4 under the redistricting plan enacted by the Legislature in June 2013 (PlanS172), seeking to enjoin Texas from conducting further state Senate elections under the plan, and asking the court to require the Legislature to reapportion the senate districts to conform to the one person, one vote clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. The lawsuit argues that Texas' state Senate districts must be drawn with approximately equal numbers of eligible voters in addition to approximately equal total population.
Sept. 6, 2013 - The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas entered an order denying a request by the State of Texas to dismiss claims about the 2011 house and congressional maps on grounds of mootness. The court also said that it had concluded that a full, fair, and final review of all issues before the court could not be resolved in time for the 2014 elections, and ordered the 2013 enacted congressional (PlanC235) and Texas house (PlanH358) maps to be used as interim plans for the 2014 elections. The court did not make any changes to the election schedule for 2014.
Sept. 5, 2013 - The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas entered a final judgment on the state senate map (PlanS172). This allows SB 3 (83 Legislature, First Called Session, 2013) to be used for elections to state senate districts.
