In 1992, Deanna began her legal career as a criminal defense attorney at the firm of Nicholas and Barrera in San Antonio, Texas. There, she focused on high profile, complex criminal law cases, including appeals. After the birth of her first child, Ms. Whitley began managing and providing legal services for her family’s dental business on the eastside of San Antonio. Serving an underrepresented community has been, and continues to be, extraordinarily rewarding. After observing how many low income families had difficulty accessing dental care, Ms. Whitley and her family created five mobile dental clinics to serve patients in underserved areas of Texas.

In 2008, Ms. Whitley opened a law practice with another local attorney. Ms. Whitley’s practice became increasingly focused on Family Law issues in the greater San Antonio area. Ms. Whitley has a longstanding commitment to acting in the best interests of children in all family law litigation. Her high standards and uncompromising ethics have allowed her to build a family law practice that promotes a “Child First” approach on marital termination, assisting clients in ending their marriages without completely destroying their families.

In 2013, Ms. Whitley established her own Family Law Firm with in San Antonio, Texas, serving Bexar County and contiguous counties.
