Central Expressway reopens after pileup involving two semis injures several drivers

A crash involving multiple vehicles forced crews to shut down Central Expressway near Royal Lane for more than three hours Monday morning.

The accident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. and involved two 18-wheelers and five other vehicles, police said. Several drivers were injured, but there were no fatalities, police said.

Traffic was forced to exit at Royal Lane until the highway reopened at about 5:45 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
