With a few clicks of a touch-screen, a Jefferson Parish resident can now pay a water bill or apply for a building permit. On Wednesday (Nov. 5), Jefferson Parish administration launched a new mobile app - "Jefferson Parish MOBILE" - which can be downloaded for free on such devices as mobile phones and tablet computers.

The app's home screen links to the parish website, news releases, live JPTV, and more. Click the "services" tab for government services, including the ability to plan a route on Jefferson Transit or to see live traffic from DOTD cameras. Click "Alerts" to find neighborhood events, road closures, and announcements. One feature also lets users click through adoptable dogs and cats available at parish animal shelters.

For more information, access Jefferson Parish's website at jeffparish.net or telephone the Jefferson Parish Public Information Office at (504) 736-6410.

Did you try the App? What do you think of it?
