Please join us for lunch and a conversation with state Sen. Robert Nichols and state Rep. Travis Clardy at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. Texas Tribune CEO and Editor-in-Chief Evan Smith will moderate this preview of the 84th Legislative Session and audience Q&A.

Nichols, R-Jacksonville, has represented District 3 in the Texas Senate since 2007. He serves as the chair of the Transportation Committee, as the vice-chair of the Intergovernmental Relations Committee, and as a member of the Finance, Health & Human Services, State Affairs, and Natural Resources committees. He has a degree in industrial engineering from Lamar University, built four manufacturing facilities in East Texas, and served for eight years on the Texas Transportation Commission.

Clardy, R-Nacogdoches, has represented District 11 in the Texas House since 2013. He serves as a member of the Higher Education, Local & Consent Calendars, Redistricting, and Special Purpose Districts committees. He is a practicing attorney, owns the Clardy Law Offices in Nacogdoches and Lufkin, and received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Pepperdine University School of Law.

This event will be held in the Twilight Ballroom (Room 2.501) of the Baker Pattillo Student Center at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. Paid parking will be available in the Baker Pattillo Student Center parking garage, located just south of the Student Center at the intersection of Griffith and Clark boulevards. The event is free and open to the public and includes a complimentary lunch.
