Gov. Rick Perry has decided to cut his European economic development trip short and return to Texas because of Ebola concerns, his office confirmed.
Perry was in London on Tuesday and had planned stops in Germany, Poland and Ukraine. He was scheduled to return to Austin this weekend.
But following the second Dallas health care worker being diagnosed with the Ebola virus, Perry is hastily returning and will be back in state on Wednesday.
His office has not yet issued the formal statement regarding his return.
The decision comes about the same time President Obama announced that he was cancelling a mid-term campaign trip to meet with Cabinet members over Ebola monitoring and precautions.
