Brown is a former Fort Bend County Democratic Party chairman. He has worked on campaigns and in legislative offices of several public officials, including U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, state Rep. Sylvester Turner and former U.S. Trade Rep. Ron Kirk.  

Sitton is a mechanical engineer and businessman specializing in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University.
