Houston Information Technology Services

Houston Information Technology Services (HITS) was created in 2003 to improve the IT organization throughout the City; to leverage emerging technologies to reduce cost, limit growth in the workforce and improve services to citizens and employees.

The Department's vision is to be an information and technology organization recognized for collaborative partnership, proactive leadership, strategic innovation, and quality of customer service.

Chief Information Officer

HITS is led by the Chief Information Officer (CIO) Charles T. Thompson.
