$190,281,716.00 - that's how much New York collected in 2012 for its 911 system through a $0.50 monthly surcharge on phone bills. We just launched a campaign on +Google #OneToday, where we're trying to raise money for text messages to enable our own 911 system in Haiti, $1 at a time. Download the OneToday app for iOS or Android and support us with $1 here: http://onetoday.google.com/p/dX6_dv1F

Hi, does any one know where we can find (free) state-by-state stats on a) wireless and landline subscribers, and b) 911 surcharges? CTIA has some stuff, and so does FCC, but it seems like CTIA and other orgs will only release this if you pay. Does NENA have this? Thank you!

Haha - indeed, good call. I think I may need a pro bono lawyer to go with that.

Do you volunteer as an #EMT  on your college campus? If so, you'll hopefully be at this weekend's #NCEMSF conference in Boston. It's no exaggeration when we say that this will be the coolest conference we'll be at all year, and we'll be sharing on Saturday about how you can get involved in international #EMS  development. Come join us at the National Collegiate Emergency Medical Services Foundation 2014 annual conference! (Saturday, 2:40-3:40p, Columbus Hall) http://www.ncemsf.org/conference/2014-conference
