Office of the President

A visionary leader and accomplished scholar, Vistasp M. Karbhari took office in June 2013 as the eighth president of The University of Texas at Arlington. He is committed to advancing UT Arlington’s national and international profile while strengthening excellence in research and teaching and ensuring the success of the University’s 38,000 on-campus and online students.

A prolific researcher and seasoned administrator, President Karbhari has served as principal investigator or co-principal investigator on more than $37 million in research projects and authored or co-authored more than 460 papers in journals and conference proceedings.

Fueling Economic Growth

UT Arlington advances the economy by raising the skill level of the workforce, fostering discovery, and cultivating entrepreneurship and associated capital investment. The University creates a $12.8 billion annual economic impact in North Texas, which represents about 4 percent of the entire regional economy.
