LinkedIn, the social network for job seekers, has released its annual list of the 100 most in-demand employers, with several energy companies ranked among the most sought-after.
Ten energy companies made the list, with conglomerates like Exxon Mobil and oilfield services companies like Baker Hughes represented. Every Houston-area company on the list was in the energy industry.
But the tech industry was by far the most represented — four of the top five companies were from the technology industry, as well as five out of the top 10.
Companies were ranked according to the volume of interaction between users and the companies’ LinkedIn pages. The analysis also surveyed thousands of users on their familiarity with companies and tracked the number of visits company pages received.
LinkedIn said it excluded itself from the ranking.
