When Josh Lambert was at Garland, he set a school record with a 53-yard field goal. He hit several others that were from more than 50 yards. That success has continued at West Virginia, and he’s now one of 20 semifinalists for the Lou Groza award.
Lambert, a sophomore, has nailed 21 field goals and is the nation’s top long-distance kicker, going 4-for-4 on kicks from over 50 yards. Twelve of Lambert’s made field goals this year are from at least 40 yards.
