Meanwhile, northbound Stemmons near downtown is also a mess for those attempting to make the early morning commute.

The incident began some time before 1:30 Monday morning, when a pickup carrying three men crashed into a concrete guardrail. When Dallas Fire-Rescue workers arrived on scene, they found all three pinned inside the wreckage. All three were transported to nearby Parkland Memorial Hospital — one in critical condition, the others listed as serious. Officials have not updated their status, and the cause of the crash remains unknown at this early hour.

Shortly after that first crash, an 18-wheeler heading south on Stemmons crashed into debris from the pickup, which punctured its fuel tank. As a result, several lanes of Stemmons were doused in diesel fuel. Dallas Fire-Rescue called in Hazmat, and the Texas Department of Transportation dispatched contractors to clean up the spill.

Meanwhile, there are two crashes northbound on Stemmons — one at the Dallas North Tollway exit, and another at Market Center Boulevard.
