A new West Dallas development is planned to bring 1,500 new homes to the area just west of downtown Dallas.

Developer StreetLights Residential and Stonelake Capital Partners plan to start work next year on a redevelopment of a 25-acre old industrial property on Singleton Boulevard just west of Sylvan Avenue.

The project is one of the largest planned in West Dallas, which is seeing a surge in apartment construction.

StreetLights Residential plans to build on the former Austin Industries complex at 1000 Singleton. The first phase of Trinity Village project will be 354 apartments, according to filings with the City of Dallas.

The total of 1,500 residential units in the development will include about 130 for sale homes, according to details for the project given the plan commission.
