Cream bassist Jack Bruce was laid to rest today (Nov. 5) with a rendition of the Beatles’ “Strawberry Fields Forever,” among others — led by former Cream bandmate Eric Clapton.

Western Morning News reports  that the gathered, which also included former Cream drummer Ginger Baker, Roxy Music’s Phil Manzanera, Vernon Reid of Living Colour and more, held a vigil that included breaking into the Beatles classic, plus Cat Stevens’ “Morning Has Broken” and Bruce’s own solo track “Theme from an Imaginary Western.”

Additionally, “For Jack,” a track Clapton wrote for his fallen bandmate after his death, was reportedly played on the speakers at the funeral.
