Art Exhibition in The Gallery at UTA: Philip Van Keuren / Liz Ward (Arts & Culture - UT Arlington and Community)
Though distinctly different in their choices of medium, the two artists in this exhibition share a poetic sensibility in their work as they express their personal responses to the impact of time and human action on the landscape around them. Philip Van Keuren presents atmospheric black and white photogravures that document familiar sights while also evoking thoughts of time, memory and mortality. Liz Ward's colorful watercolors and meticulous silverpoint drawings communicate her concern for the environment through organic abstractions that are haunting allusions to incremental damage and irreparable loss.
