HOUSTON -- Rain lingered over into the Thursday morning commute but will clear out soon, according to Meteorologist Chita Johnson.

"You'll need your umbrellas this morning, but by this afternoon we'll be dry," said Johnson. "It'll still be cloudy this afternoon, but once the skies clear out is when you'll feel the real chill."

We'll top out around 71 degrees today with temperatures dipping down into the low-50s by early Friday morning.

Friday will be partly cloudy with a high temp of 67 degrees.

This weekend is looking really nice with only a very slight chance scattered rain on Saturday (mainly along the coast) and sunny and clear skies on Sunday. Temps will be in the upper-60s and low-70s.

Overnight temps into early Sunday will be in the upper-40s.

Our next real chance for rain kicks in next Tuesday and Wednesday as another front moves in.
