TOWSON, Md. — A man arrested in Maryland by officers rescuing a woman abducted in Philadelphia has agreed to be extradited to Virginia to face outstanding charges.

Prosecutor Karen Pilarski said in Baltimore County General District Court in Towson on Thursday that Delvin Barnes has signed the extradition paperwork.

Federal Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents found him Wednesday night in Jessup and freed Carlesha Freeland-Gaither, who had been missing for three days.

Barnes is charged with being a fugitive from justice in Virginia, where he is wanted for attempted murder, assault and malicious injury with acid, explosives or fire. Court records show he is from Charles City, near Richmond.

Barnes is at the Baltimore County jail after being turned over to Maryland State Police, which has its headquarters in the county.
