There is a little character popping up around town, from Dallas Cowboys games to City Hall.

Meet Pidge -- a character on a mission to promote literacy.

The family behind Pidge is a household name. Roger Staubach is married to Pidge, or at least that was his wife's name growing up. Their daughter Michelle is writing a children's book based off many family truths. Her true goal is to get kids reading.

Throughout the day Thursday, we are asking you to make your "Pidge Promise."

What would you promise Pidge to help in the effort to improve literacy? Will you volunteer at the library? Will you read an extra 10 minutes a day to your kids? Will you donate books to your school?
