Cold-pressed juices often flow backstage at fashion shows, where everyone from models to makeup artists can be seen clutching bottles full of green liquid. It might just be a matter of correlation, but connoisseurs tend to credit the beverages for promoting gloriously radiant, dewy skin. Perhaps realizing this connection, Juice Generation is gearing up to launch its new Beauty Bombs collection, a series of drinks infused with ingredients normally found in the skincare aisle, such as detoxifying clays, pore-refining charcoal and hydrating rosewater. The hope is that when consumed internally, these elements will impart all the complexion-enhancing benefits of, say, a great face mask, while also benefiting the body. The range includes two shots — Pure Earth (with bentonite clay, alkaline water and rosewater) and Le Détox (with French green clay and cucumber water) — and three juices: Activated Lemonade, Activated Greens and Activated Protein, all spiked with charcoal.

The makeup artist and seasoned juicer Pat McGrath tested out the blends and was enthusiastic in her review. “I feel energized immediately after drinking these and I notice when I juice daily, my skin glows,” she says, adding that she sips the Activated Protein juice for breakfast and the Activated Lemonade before lunch “for an extra energy boost and pure hydration.” McGrath plans to stock up as temperatures dip. “My skin tends to get dry in the winter, so keeping hydrated with a juice balances the skin’s texture and adds in moisture,” she explains.

And lest anyone fear that the earthy brews will taste like dirt, the model and juice enthusiast Jessica Stam sampled all and confirms: “There was no charcoal or clay taste that I could tell.” In fact, she quite liked quaffing the floral-infused Pure Earth shot. Skincare benefits aside, she says, “I love anything rose-scented.”

Juice Generation’s Beauty Bombs collection will be available at its New York locations by mid-November and online at juicegeneration.com in December.
