Jimmy Kimmel mocks Oakland mayoral candidate

Oakland’s most ridiculous mayoral candidate, Peter Liu, was jabbed by comic Jimmy Kimmel Monday night for his wild take on the digital divide in Oakland.

Answering a question about equal access to the Internet for the oakmayor2014.com website, Liu said: “The lesson here is this: When your son says, ‘Mommy, Daddy, I need internet access for homework,’ this really translates to: ‘I am gonna masturbate online while my parents at work yo.’”

Kimmel also ripped from a Chronicle interview of Liu, where Liu says he was motivated to run, in part, by a relative who “called me a piece of sh–.”

But Kimmel missed Liu’s best idea for Oakland — horses. Answering another question for the oakmayor2014.com website about bicycle and pedestrian safety, Liu said: “An alternative form of transportation I support is horses. I am an animal lover and those ponies are cute. With my trusty horse sidekick, HORSEY, I’ll ride like a western cowboy slinging revolvers and my horse sh– all over Oakland grass patches as natural fertilizer for the trees and flowers.”

We called Liu Tuesday morning and asked him if he’d seen the Kimmel sketch.

“I feel good about it,” Liu said, adding that he couldn’t talk long. “I’m getting a haircut right now.”
