Bob remembers former Washington Post editor Ben Bradlee, who died this Tuesday at age 93. Under Bradlee, the Post broke the Watergate scandal that lead to President Nixon's resignation, and published the Pentagon Papers after winning a court battle with the White House.

Please. Watergate was far more than journalism exposing the nastiness of a nasty president. It was power politics on the world stage. As soon as Nixon was out detante ended. Nixon was driven from the White House by very powerful forces led by Nelson Rockefeller, who resigned as gov of NY just before the special sen committe was assembled. There is a lot more to it than the oft-repeated standard middle class view of "good v evil". Presidents are not driven from office over things like bugging the opposition or sex; presidents are driven from office when very powerful people work very hard for some length of time to recruit other powerful people to their position. It begins with Rockefeller; it ends with Reagan and involves the collapse of the USSR. Not small change.......if you want I can be more specific.
