DENVER (CBS4)-   Record breaking cold overnight for the Denver! A few records fell last night. The daily record low for November 12th was -4 from 1882. We dropped to -13 before midnight. The daily record low for today was -3 from 1916, this morning we hit -14! This was the second coldest recording in November for Denver. So, it really down right cold! Yesterday we only hit 6 degrees (which was a daily record high maximum), but today we are back to the double digits. The warm up isn’t huge, but getting out of the single digits is a big improvement. Highs today are in the upper teens and twenties. Eastern Colorado will stay on the dry side, but more mountain snow is rolling in. Heavy snow will fall over the next several days for the high country. Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories start today and last through Saturday night/Sunday. Up to 20 inches could fall in some areas! This is great news for all of our ski resorts.

Snow will continue in the mountains through Sunday, but here in Denver we stay dry again tomorrow. And-this is the best part-we get above freezing for a day. Saturday brings another chance for snow and cold temperatures. We clear out quickly by Sunday, but stay below freezing through Monday.

Stay warm!
