The cast members at Disney World are really cool when it come to the little Princesses. My daughter did the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique and was in her princess dress for most of the day. Most if not all cast members would treat her as royalty. Bowing and saying, "Hello Princess." It made her trip that much more special.

[–]Addestratore 614 points615 points  (29 children)

Yea, this was definitely the best part about going to Disney as a parent. When my daughter dressed up it fell on a day that was kinda rainy, so she has a coat over her princess dress a lot. A couple of times an employee would drop to knee and say "my apologies princess I didn't recognize you in your disguise."

Edit: Jesus guys, the post above was automatically quoted - no need to crucify me.

You really didn't have to quote it. We just reddit..

[–]ohsohumble 29 points30 points  (9 children)

I'm actually not sure how that happened.

Edit: Oh, I had his paragraph highlighted and it was automatically quoted.

Did... did you really just quote the entire comment in the reply to that same comment?

[–]keepinithamsta 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I don't have anything to add to this conversation but I'm quoting just in case someone forgets what they just read:

Did... did you really just quote the entire comment in the reply to that same comment?

[–]Selsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you.

[–]bogidyboy -3 points-2 points  (4 children)

You didn't have to copy and paste, at all

[–]ohsohumble 3 points4 points  (3 children)

Reddit extensions caused it to be automatically quoted. Everyone is a critic.

[–]PlNG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not even an extension, it will automatically fill the reply area with any highlighted text. It should probably linkify when it's not a parent comment or OP's self text.

[–]bogidyboy -1 points0 points  (1 child)

What a yucky extension

[–]ohsohumble -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's because I had highlighted the block.

[–]ChrizoPrime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If a park employee did that for my daughter, I'd tip them a $20.

[–]frostiitute -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

*Tips fedora

[–]The_Knight_of_Ni 48 points49 points  (8 children)

When I went dressed a princess all I got was escorted out of the park.

[–]6F6A9O9 25 points26 points  (1 child)

You should have worn a tiara bro.

[–]gloomdoom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

More important for him to have worn underwear.

[–]Stitchopoulis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zombie Diana scares the kids.

[–]dont_press_ctrl-W 0 points1 point  (1 child)

You're not a real princess, though. Duh.

[–]The_Knight_of_Ni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have no proof! I could be!

[–]MCMXChris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It helps if you don't look like the joker dressed as the nurse

[–]Notasoftie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you a man with hairy legs? Perhaps they had the right to

[–]phasers_to_stun 39 points40 points  (6 children)

And now for some reason I want to cry. I love Disney.

[–]AkumaNoHana 22 points23 points  (1 child)

Me too.. I think I'm pmsing...

[–]MaritMonkey 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There are things I hate about my hormones, but I always thank them for giving me a reminder to go stock up on "feminine products," even if it comes in the form of me falling to tears over the fact that the pen I really wanted to use is out of ink.

[–]Extra_Chromosome 1 point2 points  (3 children)

No tears. Not today.

[–]phasers_to_stun -1 points0 points  (2 children)

There are years everyday. It's just one of those thangs.

[–]lostpatrol 0 points1 point  (1 child)

So many years.

[–]phasers_to_stun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh god damn it.

[–]Corpsman223 73 points74 points  (17 children)

Yeah, it's standard Bibbity Bobbity procedure, but my kid loved it. It's a nice touch.

[–]a_stitch_in_lime 28 points29 points  (5 children)

Bibbity Bobbity Bureacracy?

[–]RobbyLee 19 points20 points  (4 children)

This is really hard to say as a not native English speaker

[–]pleasejustdie 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Its still hard to say as a native English speaker.

[–]amjhwk -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

maybe for an uneducated native english speaker

[–]Aeyrie 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Don't feel too bad. It's not easy for a native English speaker.

[–]amjhwk -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

native english speaker here, can say it very easily

[–]MundiMori 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do they do it if you just dress your kid up as a princess yourself? I don't even have kids yet but already feel guilty not spending $194 on the super princess package and having everyone bow to them...

[–]amorousCephalopod 0 points1 point  (9 children)

And a goddamn great way to sell dresses that those kids will grow out of almost instantly.

[–]Corpsman223 17 points18 points  (8 children)

Yes. But. She REALLY loved it. We bought the dress a little big and she still uses it in her dress up box. They make it really special for the kids all day. I would recommend doing it early so she gets the experience of being a princess for the whole day. It costs a lot... like hundreds by the time it was all said and done. It was honestly worth the cash. It makes you sound like a sucker, but I'm a sucker for her, so there you go.

[–]MittRomneysPlatform 8 points9 points  (6 children)

I'm a sucker for her

You are a wonderful parent :')

[–]amjhwk -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

until she grows up into the spoiled brats you see on mtv

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points  (4 children)

Wonderful, aye? Man, the bar for good parenting is set so fucking low.

Spending an exorbitant amount of money to literally make your child a spoiled princess for the day does not translate into any beneficial life lessons. It's solely a fun experience. It's easy to do it you can afford it as well.

Honestly, don't be so simple.

[–]MittRomneysPlatform 0 points1 point  (3 children)

You obviously do not have a daughter lol

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points  (2 children)

I don't need to. I didn't say she wouldn't enjoy it, or the parents wouldn't. I was commenting on how the bar for wonderful parenting being set for things that are fun and easy for parents to do is a tad ridiculous.

It's not difficult to choose to do something that beings enjoyment for the parent and child. It's beneficial for both. That's not wonderful, that sounds absolutely typical. It's things bad parents do, too.

[–]MittRomneysPlatform 0 points1 point  (1 child)

They're at fucking disneyworld. The whole point of the park is to make the experience as memorable and magical for the kid as possible. I wasn't saying dropping hundreds of dollars on his kid made him a wonderful parent. I even quoted him saying "I'm a sucker for her," which I took to mean "I'd give my daughter the world if I could". That is the mark of a loving, wonderful parent to me. I'm fully aware good parenting isn't a dick measuring contest where the best parents are the ones that spend the most on their kids.

I was just touched by a dad's words of endearment about his daughter; I wasn't trying to meet your parenting standards, however, so I'm sorry you felt the need to give me your baseless parenting spiel. You may take your cynical bullshit and shove it up your ass now.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not cynical, I'm pointing out the use of poor language congratulating something as "wonderful" whne it is absurdly typical. Taking your kid to Disney world is easy. It changes nothing, you clearly missed the entire point. Congratulating typical parenting as wonderful is bad for kids. It's lowering the bar. Don't be such a narcissist. Language is important, and overvaluing easy parenting is ignorant.

Learn to take criticism.

[–]amorousCephalopod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it totally sounds worth it. Those people at the Disney parks know exactly what they're selling and know exactly how to make it as magical as possible. Sometimes their employee training policies seem to border on the extreme, but after hearing about all the great things the employees who stay there do, you can only really admire the end result and the individual's dedication.

[–]mewnsea 25 points26 points  (2 children)

Ditto with my daughter. Everyone went out of their way for the birthday princess. Gave her free pins, dessert every night. Best moment.... she is in a gift shop and only had 5 dollars of her money left. She asks the guy working what she can get for 5 dollars. He asks what she likes and she responds with tinkerbell. He grabs a 30 dollar tinkerbell, hands it to a cashier, and says this is 5 dollars today. Edit: spelling

[–]yourotherusername 27 points28 points  (3 children)

I can't say enough good things about our trip there. We had friends who tried to talk us out of going, and to instead go somewhere 'real'. Fuck that! I want to let my kids pretend! (and me too!) It was the most exhausting vacation I have ever been on but worth every penny in memories.

[–]BrownNote 16 points17 points  (2 children)

Heh, I still go to Disney regularly with people around my age and no kids are involved at all. There's something you can really appreciate about how they pull you into another world. Something that gets lost on children, but makes it still attractive for adults to go.

[–]siegewolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing like getting drunk around the world!

[–]yourotherusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truth. I just want to be 'in the moment'. I don't want to think about what to do, I want to do. Sure, at night back in the room I mapped out what to do the next day so we would have a plan, but it was only a plan and we changed it when ever we saw something else more interesting. It was wonderful to act and play along with my kids and all the other people.

[–]sparklyjesus 16 points17 points  (1 child)

Isn't that were Bill Cosby gets his hair done?

[–]6F6A9O9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bahahaha

[–]Voodoo_Tiki 1 point2 points  (1 child)

We try our best to make your vacation the best. Hope each visit is as great as the last for you

[–]gbenner88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been three times in 6 years. Can't wait for spring 2016

[–]Simify 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a 24 year old man...

I really want to do that ;_;

[–]acexprt 2 points3 points  (1 child)

It's all part of the training.

[–]runtheplacered 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's his point. The kids can have a consistently amazing time at Disney, you know, because of training.

[–]GEARHEADGus 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I'm assuming cast members is what the park calls its employees?

[–]GoldenRational 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep

[–]GoldenBath42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it just refers to the ones dressing up in character. Maybe they call the janitor a cast member.

[–]BigDrunkPartyAnimal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did that with my niece the day we left Disney. The best part was a Delta pilot at the airport escorting us to cut the 90 minute security line because, "a princess shouldn't have to wait".

[–]bogidyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't plan on ever having kids, but that sounds so damn adorable

[–]NagisaK 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Their business is based on kids so being mean to them and their fantasy would be shooting their own foot.

[–]runtheplacered 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not calling them princess would be mean? The point is, they go above and beyond.

[–]MissMister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 19 years old and I wish they did that for girls my age! I'll never not want to be a little princess when I'm in Disney World.

[–]blooper2112 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Are you suppose to tip these people?

[–]gbenner88 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Not all at. No one does and the cast members wount have it. Everything at Disney is in character. It would be weird.

[–]blooper2112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neat!

[–]Deathmoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh sure a little girl dresses up like a princess at Disney World and she gets bowed at, but when I do it at an Elementary school I get escorted off the premises.

[–]effingeenyus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cause you just dropped 3 months salary on an outfit she's going to wear once. The broke-ass actors working there all got together and were like "holy shit, you guys. This woman is seriously lacking in common sense, let's do whatever we can to make her happy before she realizes what an insane move she just pulled"
