Tony Long

I have decided to take the challenge of riding my bicycle from London to Paris inside 24 hours and non-stop.

Hopefully that will inspire you to help me reach my fundraising target and bring aid to the children’s charity Action Medical Research, who are dedicated to improving the health of babies and children. It is a UK and US based charity so those of you at Pew will be able to match fund.

Despite enormous progress in medicine, there are still hundreds of thousands of sick and disabled children who need our help. Children like Katie, born two months early who needed resuscitating at birth, Cieran who was left with deafness, epilepsy and cerebral palsy because of meningitis and Jack, who as a baby, was diagnosed with brain cancer.

Action Medical Research is offering hope to the many thousands of families who are dealing with the trauma of a baby born too early, striving to support a child affected by disability, or facing the challenge of caring for a child with a rare and devastating disease for which there is no cure.

Right now the best medical minds in children’s hospitals and universities across the UK and the USA are waiting for the green light to start research that could lead to life-changing treatments for babies and children. They just need the funding.

Will you help me reach my target? Just one breakthrough, however small, can mean the world.

Please help me raise my target, and maybe even a little more.

Thank you

Tony Cycla Long
