DFW is known for its loyal sports fans. It’s always a good night when you are able to cheer on your favorite team, enjoy good drinks and good food and spend time with friends or other sports fans in a fun environment. While it’s easy to find a restaurant or bar with a single flat screen and mediocre beer, that’s not usually what most people look for in a good sports bar. Featuring some of the best food, huge televisions and best patios, these are some of the best sports bars in the DFW area.

Time Out Tavern
5101 W. Lovers Lane
Dallas, TX 75209
(214) 956-9552
www.totdfw.comSince 1988, Time Out Tavern has been known as one of Dallas’ best sports bars to go to and enjoy a beer while watching your favorite sport. Whether it be baseball, basketball, football or hockey, or some other sport that you might be a fan of, this is one of the best places for a sports fan to go. Not only is it one of the best, but it is one of the oldest sports bars in Dallas, although that doesn’t mean it’s not hip enough for the younger sports fans. Time Out Tavern has multiple flat screens inside as well as a patio with televisions for when the weather is nice.

Bryan Street Tavern
4315 Bryan St.
Dallas, TX 75204

www.bryanstreettavern.comBryan Street Tavern is known for serving great pizza and craft beer to patrons while they enjoy watching their favorite teams on TV. The tavern features live music, a great patio area, pool tables and televisions for watching the game. In fact, you can even enjoy some time with your furry friend on the patio. Bryan Street Tavern won awards for the best beer selection and best patio bar in 2014 so this really is a great place to be, especially in patio weather. If you are feeling a little competitive yourself, you might want to check out the wing challenge that’s offered here. There are also daily specials so you can have a good time here any day of the week.

Vernon’s Gastropub

Poker nights are hosted here every Saturday and Monday and live music is offered twice a month. If you are a Packers fan, this is the place to be as Vernon’s Gastropub has become known as one of the best hangouts for Packers fans in Texas.

Inwood Tavern
7717 Inwood Road
Dallas, TX 75209
(214) 353-2666
www.inwoodtaverndallas.comInwood Tavern is one of Dallas’ oldest continuously operating bars as it just hit its 50-year anniversary. The Tavern has gotten somewhat of a reputation as being one of Dallas’ dive-iest bars but is really just a great, small, neighborhood bar. The owners are continuing to update the bar with an enlarged patio area, brand new TVs and an HD projector for sports, and an all-new audio system. Drinks are served in “classy” red Solo cups and the cold root beer shots are very popular here. While the bar has been around long enough that your grandparents might have gone here at one point, the atmosphere is now very friendly and open.

Flips Patio Grill

Fort Worth, TX 76137
(817) 847-4424
www.flipsgrill.comFlips is a neighborhood restaurant with a very large patio that is very popular with the sports fans in Fort Worth. It offers an extensive menu of quality food including fresh-ground meat, freshly baked breads and hand-cut fries. There is a fully-stocked bar and plenty of flat screens so this is a great place to watch the game and most sports and games are available if you have any special requests. It’s a family-friendly place so it’s great for bringing the whole family, but you can still enjoy a variety of beers or cocktails.
