Macy's, Sign the "Golden Rules" for Responsible Gold

One gold ring produces over 20 tons of waste during production. The result: gold mining threatens clean water, and the communities that depend on it.  Adding insult to injury, gold mining too often occurs under terrible conditions, including the use of child labor and forced labor.

In Cajamarca, my part of Peru, we see these effects of unethical, dirty gold mining. And I'm ready for it to stop before it gets worse.

Macy's, one of the largest gold retailers in the U.S., can help to transform irresponsible gold mining by signing onto the "Golden Rules" for clean gold. In fact, is one of the largest jewelry retailers in the world who has yet to say "no" to dirty gold. Macy's has a responsibility to their customers and communities no make sure the gold they are selling is clean and responsibly mined. Macy's it's time to stop lagging behind and do the right thing!

Macy's has decades of good public relations, the Thanksgiving day parade and more so why would they sully their name with child labor?
