Mugshot: Rick Perry Surrenders To Courthouse Following Indictment

Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R), who was indicted last week for abusing the powers of his office, surrendered to the Travis County Courthouse to be fingerprinted and have his mugshot taken.

After he surrendered, the Travis County Sheriff's Office released his mugshot:

Before entering the courthouse, Perry delivered a fervent statement about his indictment.

"I’m here today I believe in the rule of law. I’m here today because I did the right thing," he began, assuring his supporters that he would enter the courthouse with his "head held high."

Perry called his indictment "nothing short of an attack on the constitutional powers of the office of Governor."

"There are important fundamental issues at stake," he said during his statement, which started to sound more like a rally. "I’m going to fight this injustice with every fiber of my being, and we will prevail!"
