GPA addresses Climate Action Plan with White House

GPA submitted a letter to the White House in early October, urging President Barack Obama to consider current regulations, methane emissions studies and voluntary initiatives before issuing regulations regarding methane emissions as part of the "Climate Action Plan Strategy to Reduce Methane Emissions" (Climate Action Plan). GPA testifies to Texas House Environmental Regulation Committee

The Texas House of Representatives Environmental Regulation Committee met Sept. 29-30 to review the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) carbon-cutting Clean Energy Plan proposed by President Barack Obama to battle greenhouse gas emissions. Under the proposed rule for existing power plants, Texas would be required to cut its power plant carbon emissions 41 percent by 2020. Gas Processors Association (GPA) Chairman of the Board Joel Moxley provided testimony during the hearings, explaining the need for regulatory certainty and its importance to the midstream energy sector.
