The Mean Green volleyball team lost its second straight conference match on the road against Western Kentucky University  on Sunday afternoon in four sets (13-25, 18-25, 25-21, 19-25).

North Texas (12-8, 3-4) headed into the match trying to get a win after losing a sloppy match against Southern Mississippi University. The team started off slow by dropping the first two sets.

The Mean Green was then able to acquire its first lead of the match in the third set, and ended up taking that set 25-21. However, the team was never able to mount a comeback and lost the fourth set to end the match. Senior outside hitter Hanna Forst had a solid outing for the Mean Green with 14 kills, but also recorded seven errors.

Senior setter Camille Cherry and freshman middle blocker Amanda Chamberlain also had good games in the loss. Cherry recorded 37 assists and three blocks, and Chamberlain had six blocks along with two kills. The team had six blocks on the night.

The team has lost six of its past seven games on the road, but returns home on Friday to play the University of Charlotte. The game time is set for 7 p.m.
