C | 1 | Tyler Ennis ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveTyler Ennis missed Friday's practice. It was just a maintenance day off for Ennis. He should be good to go Saturday afternoon against San Jose. Oct 25 |
Cody Hodgson ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveCody Hodgson scored for the Sabres in a stunning 2-1 win against the San Jose Sharks on Saturday. Hodgson, 24, is still having a disappointing season so far (just two points and a -6 rating with a scant 10 SOG in nine games), but perhaps this will light a fire under him? He only received 10:48 time on ice on Saturday, so this may just be wakeup call material for the 10th pick of the 2008 NHL Draft. Oct 25
Zemgus Girgensons ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveZemgus Girgensons notched a goal for the Sabres, who were dominated by the Blackhawks in a 6-2 loss Saturday night. The 20-year-old has goals in two straight games. The 2012 first-round pick probably needs more time to develop, preferably in the AHL or at least in a sheltered role in the NHL. He might not get that with the Sabres, who are likely to finish as one of the league’s worst teams. Tyler Ennis had the other goal. Drew Stafford picked up two assists. Oct 12
Sam Reinhart ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveBuffalo hasn't made a decision yet on where Sam Reinhart will play out the remainder of the season. "Not yet," coach Ted Nolan said. "We'll sit down with [GM Tim Murray] in a little bit, and we'll decide then." Reinhart suited up in his eighth game with Sabres on Tuesday night. A return to the junior ranks appears to be in the cards for him. He's picked up one assist and three shots, while averaging just 10:41 of ice time per match. Oct 29
Matt Ellis ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveMatt Ellis scored the only Buffalo goal in a 4-1 loss to Minnesota Thursday. The goal was just the second of the campaign for Ellis, who offers no fantasy value. Mike Weber and Tyler Ennis drew the assists on the marker. Jan 2
Johan Larsson ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/sq_red_IL.gif) I.L.The Sabres announced today that they've assigned young defenseman Johan Larsson to the Rochester Americans of the AHL. This isn't really much of a surprise since he was placed on IR a few days ago and wasn't likely to make the team. The Sabres also save some money by having him officially in the minors. Oct 10
LW | 1 | Matt Moulson ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveSabres forward Matt Moulson was held off the scoresheet once again Tuesday as the Sabres were upended by Toronto by a score of 4-0. The sniper has yet to score a goal all season and he was actually prevented from even recording a shot on goal in this disastrous defeat. No Sabres player registered more than one shot on goal in the loss. Oct 29 |
Marcus Foligno ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveMarcus Foligno started Saturday's win over San Jose as Buffalo's second-line center. He played between Drew Stafford and Cody Hodgson, who switched to left wing. "It's different," Foligno said. "When you're on the wing, you're mostly on the wall, protecting your side of the ice. When you're center, you're kind of all over. You're protecting both sides, and you're up and down." Foligno logged a team-low 8:29 of ice time, so the experiment may not last. Oct 27
Brian Flynn ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveBrian Flynn was a healthy scratch Wednesday night against Anaheim. He has skated in two of Buffalo's opening seven games this campaign. He doesn't have any fantasy value. Oct 23
Cody McCormick ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveThe Sabres have signed Cody McCormick for three years and $4.5 million. He will be a nice third-line winger in Buffalo who can score a little and accumulate some PIMs. That said, McCormick is not really worth drafting unless you have a reserve list. Jul 1
Nicolas Deslauriers ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveNicolas Deslauriers has signed a two-year deal with the Buffalo Sabres worth $1.275 million. The contract is a one-way pact after he played 17 games with the Sabres this past season. Deslauriers was acquired from Los Angeles at the trade deadline and he can play defense or forward. May 26
RW | 1 | Drew Stafford ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveDrew Stafford amassed 17 minutes in penalties after he took exception to a hit on teammate Torrey Mitchell. Mitchell was caught with his head down by former Sabre Brayden McNabb. Stafford was assessed two minutes for instigating, five minutes for fighting and a 10-minute misconduct at the 11:27 mark of the first period. Buffalo opened the contest with 11 forwards and seven defensemen dressed, so Stafford's penalty-filled outburst didn't help. He has no goals and three assists in eight games. Oct 24 |
Chris Stewart ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveThe Buffalo Sabres were shutout by the Los Angeles Kings 2-0 on Thursday night. Chris Stewart had seven shots on goal for the Sabres, but not one of them was able to beat Kings’ goaltender Jonathan Quick. The long season continues for Buffalo and for Stewart. The 26-year-old has played significant minutes for the Sabres, but he has registered just one assist in eight games now. Buffalo isn’t a very good hockey team, as they are in full-rebuild mode. As the season moves along, there is a chance that Stewart could end up being traded to a team that will help him reach his offensive potential. Oct 24
Brian Gionta ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveBrian Gionta had his best game as a Sabre in Tuesday's win over Carolina. He registered five shots and picked up an assist for his first point in Buffalo. Gionta didn't have a shot on goal in two games going into Tuesday's match and he responded after coach Ted Nolan called out his players and called them a "peewee" club. "It's one thing to lose games; it's another thing when it's the effort," the Buffalo captain said. "We can change that. We control that, so that's a good thing." Oct 16
Torrey Mitchell ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveTorrey Mitchell saw a great deal of ice time with Buffalo as a penalty killer. In nine games with the Sabres, nearly 19 percent of his ice time was spent shorthanded and the team was good over that span with a 26-for-29 success rate. Despite the small sample size, Mitchell ended up first on the team with 2:57 of penalty kill time per game. He scored his first point with Buffalo in the team's regular season finale after he was promoted to a line with Cody Hodgson and Zemgus Girgensons. May 29
Patrick Kaleta ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/sq_red_IL.gif) I.L.Patrick Kaleta (face) practiced Monday and he's getting close to returning. "Close enough that he'll start traveling with the team and get himself accustomed to doing that again," coach Ted Nolan said of Kaleta. "We're looking forward to getting him back. It should be another couple weeks yet but still he's getting real close." Kaleta skated with a no-contact sweater on during the session. He took a slap shot to the face on Sept. 28, which led to several broken bones in his face. Oct 21
D | 1 | Tyler Myers ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveTyler Myers finished with a team-high five shots on goal in Buffalo’s 4-0 loss to the Bruins on Saturday night. Of course, we want to see the production on the score sheet, but these are certainly positive steps for the 24-year-old. He now has nine shots over his past two games, and is just a minus-one for the season. Brian Gionta, Matt Moulson and Tyler Ennis all finished with a team-low minus-three rating. Oct 18 |
Rasmus Ristolainen ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveRasmus Ristolainen reported to Sabres' camp in tremendous shape and seems poised to earn a roster spot in Buffalo. He showed up 25 pounds lighter than he did last camp and looks faster and stronger than he did last season to Sabre coach Ted Nolan. "Rasmus is one of those kids that looks like he doesn't want to go anywhere but stay here in Buffalo," Nolan said. Ristolainen is in a battle with Nikita Zadorov, Andre Benoit, Mark Pysyk, Jake McCabe and Chad Ruhwedel for a couple of roster spots. We like his chances. Sep 20
Josh Gorges ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveJosh Gorges ranks second in the league with 19 blocked shots going into Friday's action. The Sabres have 71 blocks as a team and Gorges should pile them up as the season progresses. He is known as a player who gets in front of plenty of rubber and Buffalo allows a lot of shots per game. Oct 17
Andrej Meszaros ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveAndrej Meszaros was a healthy scratch Tuesday night in Buffalo's 4-3 shootout win over Carolina. "The only thing we have as a coaching staff to do is our words and our actions," coach Ted Nolan said. "Meszaros, we just need him playing better." He has gotten off to a rough start defensively in Buffalo with a minus-6 rating and four penalty minutes. Oct 15
Mike Weber ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveMike Weber recorded his first goal of the season in Sunday's loss to Philadelphia. He has six points in 64 games to go with an abysmal minus-32 rating, which places him in a tie for the worst among NHL defensemen. Weber was a pleasant surprise for the Sabres a year ago, but this season has been a complete disaster for him and for the team as a whole. Apr 7
Andre Benoit ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveAndre Benoit logged 23:11 of ice time in Sunday's preseason loss to Washington. Only defense partner Rasmus Ristolainen (23:17) played more on the Sabres in a 1-0 defeat. Both players finished a minus-1 rating. Buffalo wants Benoit to act as a leader on the club even though he has just 120 NHL contests in his career. Benoit, who turned 30 in January, broke out last season with the Colorado Avalanche. He registered seven goals, 28 points and 113 shots in 79 games. Sep 22
Nikita Zadorov ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveNikita Zadorov made his season debut with Buffalo in Thursday's 2-0 loss to Los Angeles. The Sabres played seven defensemen in the contest. Zadorov saw just 6:12 of ice time after he was a healthy scratch in Buffalo's previous seven games. There's still a chance that Zadorov will be returned to his junior team and it would be better than him not seeing the ice time he needs to develop his game. Oct 24
Tyson Strachan ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveTyson Strachan made his season debut Tuesday night against Carolina. He replaced Andrej Meszaros in the lineup and logged 15:52 of ice time, all of which came at even strength. Strachan earned an assist on Marcus Foligno's first goal of the match to give the Sabres a 1-0 lead in an eventual 4-3 shootout win. Oct 15
G | 1 | Jhonas Enroth ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveJhonas Enroth will start Thursday night's game versus Boston. He watched the last two games from the bench, as Michal Neuvirth got two straight starts. Neither goaltender is worth targeting in fantasy leagues. Oct 30 |
Michal Neuvirth ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/square_orange.gif) ActiveMichal Neuvirth struggled to keep his head above water Tuesday as the turned aside 33 of 37 shots in a 4-0 thrashing against the Maple Leafs. Neuvirth was the primary reason the score of this game wasn't more significantly lopsided since the Sabres offered him nothing in the way of support. His record falls to 1-3-0 with the loss and he continues to share time in goal with Jhonas Enroth. Oct 29
Matthew Hackett ![](https://webarchive.library.unt.edu/dentonfracking/20141031005143im_/http://www.rotoworld.com/images/sq_red_IL.gif) I.L.Matthew Hackett (torn ACL) will start the season on the injured reserve list. Hackett underwent surgery in April due to the knee injury. He is expected to be sent to the minors once he's healthy enough to play. Oct 7
