AFPF-NC Launches Charter School Tour

Raleigh – Americans For Prosperity Foundation– North Carolina is launching a Charter School Tour aimed at focusing on the new opportunities provided by public charter schools ever since the General Assembly eliminated the cap on charter schools in 2011.

The tour will kick-off this Friday, February 28th, from 10am – 12pm at the Douglass Academy located at 507 North Sixth Street, Wilmington, NC 28401.

Notable attendees include: State Representatives Rick Catlin, Ted Davis, Jr., and Chris Millis; New Hanover Co. Commissioner Chairman Woody White and Commissioner Jonathan Barfield; New Hanover Co School Board members Tammy Covil and Dr. Derrick Hickey; AFP Foundation North Carolina State Director John Dudley; Founder of Roger Bacon Academy Baker Mitchell; and Headmaster of Douglass Academy Barbara Jones.
