Latest News
As of 10-22-2014, there have been no reported human cases of West Nile Virus (WNV), but there was one positive result in a mosquito trap in Southlake this week along with positive test results in the region. The positive mosquito trap was located in the 1400 block of Byron Nelson Parkway. We want to remind everyone to stay vigilant with your personal preparedness efforts to prevent the spread of WNV by remembering the 4 D's:
- Drain all freestanding water. This is especially important considering the rain we have received. This is especially important with rain in the forecast.
- Dress in long sleeves and in long pants.
- Dusk/Dawn are the times of day when mosquitoes that carry WNV are most active.
- DEET - use insect repellent that contains DEET.
