Mingo Junction Officials Find Massive Water Leak

An Ohio Valley town that has struggled with financial problems now finds out it has another big issue on its hands. Mingo Junction officials discovered they have been losing 600,000 gallons of water a day from the water plant, when sewage treatment personnel were cleaning out a catch basin in a storm sewer and noticed a wet area by the sewage treatment plant. Steubenville Police say counterfeit $50 bills are being passed around. Police say they have spotted them at three different locations.Captain Joel Walker is advising residents to take a few minutes to check their money, especially with the holiday season coming up.Captain Walker says that these 50 dollar bills don't feel like a regular bill, they have the same serial number and they also don't have the presidents hologram in the bottom right corner. Murray Energy Adds 100 Million Tons to Illinois Coal Holdings

LOUIS (AP) - A leading U.S. coal company says it has added roughly 100 million tons of coal reserves and resources to its southern Illinois portfolio.Ohio-based Murray Energy says it bought those assets in Hamilton and Saline counties from Consol Energy of Pennsylvania. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.Murray says the acquired property and rights are adjacent to a mine operated by subsidiary American Coal Co.Murray says the deal increases its coal reserves to three billion tons. West Virginia gets $9.7 Million Grant to Curb Gun Violence

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - The West Virginia Department of Education is getting a grant to curb gun violence by connecting families, schools and communities to mental health services.The agency is set to receive the $9.7 million from Project AWARE.
