Opening night means ring night for the previous year’s champions, and Adam Silver was on hand to congratulate the Spurs on winning the franchise’s fifth NBA title.
The rings themselves were spectacular, but like everything associated with this great Spurs organization, there was almost a business-like vibe to it all more than there was an emotional one.
When it was all said and done, San Antonio overcame a double-digit second half deficit to pull out a close victory over the Mavericks.
