This is old news, but just a reminder for his owners. Josh Smith is expected to start at power forward in his absence, although it's possible that Monroe will come off the bench once he's cleared after his two-game ban.

Greg Monroe appears ticketed for a bench role to begin the season.
The Pistons appear ready to start Brandon Jennings, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Kyle Singler, Josh Smith and Andre Drummond. Considering Monroe came off the bench frequently during the preseason, this was an expected move. Monroe is moving to the bench in order to stagger the amount of time he spends on the floor with Drummond and Smith. Monroe will miss the first two games of the season due to his suspension. Over his last five preseason games, Monroe averaged 15 points and almost nine rebounds on 60 percent shooting in 28 minutes per game.

Greg Monroe came off the bench against the Hawks on Saturday, finishing with 11 points, eight rebounds, two assists, three steals, two blocks and four turnovers.
He fouled out and is being a little too aggressive on both ends. Monroe has clearly outplayed Josh Smith, but it does make sense to bring him off the bench because he can play center while Smith cannot. He's an early-late round target in most leagues.

It'll be Brandon Jennings, Cartier Martin, Kyle Singler, Josh Smith and Andre Drummond in the starting lineup. Smith has not look great while Monroe has been solid, so all bets are off on who starts. Regardless, it shouldn't affect their overall fantasy values much.

Jodie Meeks (back) will miss at least the next two months with a stress reaction in his lower back.
Meeks had emerged as a solid late-round flier in fantasy drafts, but this news will dump cold water all over that trend. While the early reports have Meeks' timetable set at months rather than weeks, we'll have to await word on a more detailed report. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is the immediate benefactor of this news and fantasy owners should be targeting him towards the middle-to-late rounds of standard league drafts.
