Earth Science Week (ESW) promotes understanding and appreciation of the value of Earth science research and its applications and relevance to our daily lives. Since 1999, the Bureau and its partners have hosted a career fair to kick off this event. The 15th Annual Austin Earth Science Week Career Day was held on October 10. More than 75 volunteer presenters, exhibitors, and tour guides joined this lively celebration to share their knowledge and expertise with 350 middle school students.
This event was made possible by the generous contributions from Statoil, Schlumberger, the Lower Colorado River Authority Employees' United Charities, the Jackson School of Geosciences, the Austin Geological Society, the Subsurface Library, and other supporters. For more information about ESW, please email Linda Ruiz McCall or call her at (512) 471-0320.
