For Plano West to knock off undefeated Allen on Friday, running back Soso Jamabo will probably need to have a big game. But as of this afternoon, it’s not certain whether Jamabo will play.
After rushing 11 times for 153 yards and 4 touchdowns in a win over Hebron on Friday, Jamabo left the field limping.
“He sprained his ankle a little before halftime,” Plano West coach Mike Hughes said. “It’s going to be one of those things where it’s a game-time decision.”
Jamabo leads all area public-school running backs in rushing yards (1,711) and rushing touchdowns (33) this season. The senior, who is one of the nation’s top recruits, is averaging 11.3 yards per carry.
Hughes said Jamabo is getting treatment for the ankle and that it “looked a little better today.” But Jamabo was going to be held out of practice.
Allen (8-0, 6-0) is No. 1 in the area 6A rankings. Plano West (7-1, 5-1) is No. 11. The game is Friday at 7:30 p.m. at John Clark Stadium in Plano.
