Watch Anthony Davis have his way against Magic (VIDEO)

Oct 29, 2014, 8:00 AM EDT

After how he played this summer for Team USA, it’s been trendy to say he will have a breakout season.

Well, how about 26 points, 17 rebounds, nine blocks, three steals and two assists on opening night? Is that breakout enough for you?  Davis spearheaded the Pelicans attack in what went on to be a 101-84 New Orleans  win.

I have a feeling we’ll have a lot more nights like this from Davis..

Davis looked incredible in the first game. Barkley made fun of his brow but c’mon it’s his trademark.

Class act. Glad he’s rising to superstardom

I lost the 1st night of my Fantasy Basketball game because of him!

Reminds me of a young Camby because of his versatility and ability to run the break. He’s much better than Camby was though.

      Camby with offense.

Brow is a PF now, but yeah, he’s better than Dwight.

I mean, when he and Anderson share the court, he’s a C. So he plays both.

I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t at some point in his career drop a quadruple double. Scariest part is he still has room to grow.

Everybody is giving all the praise to Davis, but the Pelicans don’t open the game up (it was close until the end of the 3rd) without Ryan Anderson. He will be their X-factor this season. When he scores 20 off the bench I don’t see how they can lose. Pelicans were up 5 and out of no where, Anderson makes 3 3 pointers on 3 consecutive possessions to basically end the game. He gives them versatility with their rotations as they can go traditionally big with Asik, or spread the floor with Anderson. Tough team if their 1-3 can stay healthy.

I’m a Magic fan and I’m pretty sure they are tanking this season. Why pull your starters with 8 minutes to go in the game down less than 15????? Pissed me off.

Davis had a terrific game but the Magic were also down 2 starters.

      And they’re the Magic.

And everyone was trying to say ESPN’s player rankings were wrong. The next generation of superstars are here.
