While Arlington approves new drill zone, neighbors in Mansfield lament over a fossil fuel fired lift compressor. Arlington only allows “electric” compression (once these wells peter out after 12-18 months). The electric lift compressors and compressor stations (one at Eden/Harris and the DWG one across from Camp Thurmon) has its problems too in “emission events “during monthly maintenance and when we have black outs.. Just know that even if they say they direct the stuff (raw gasses) in the pipes to the storage tanks (verses straight into the air), that the storage tanks do not have vapor recovery devices and silently, invisibly vent into the air-shed 24/7. Here is an infrared video at Lake Arlington’s compressor station’s storage tanks venting hydrocarbons.
