Port Ambrose LNG

Coast Guard Project, Docket Number: USCG-2013-0363
Status: Clock currently stopped on review process

The draft EIS is expected to be released sometime around Halloween or the November elections. A brief public comment period will follow, stay tuned for alerts about public hearings!

Like a toxic whack-a-mole, the LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) port proposed by Liberty Natural Gas LLC, now called, “Port Ambrose,” has popped up before: withdrawn in 2012 after Governor Christie vetoed it off the coast of New Jersey, it’s now back again, threatening both the Jersey shore and New York’s coast. The map below shows how the LNG port relates to the Rockaway Lateral pipeline, and competes with the Rockaway Wind Project, slated for the exact ocean location.

Governors Christie and Cuomo have veto power, and can stop the project.
Call Cuomo: (518) 474-8390   Call Christie: (609) 292-6000
