Brief: Women’s golf finishes 18th in Las Vegas tournament

The Mean Green women’s golf team wrapped up the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown Tuesday afternoon.
As a team, North Texas finished 18th with a total score of 71-over par in the three day tournament. In round one, the Mean Green shot a 30-over par and 24-over par in round two. Today in the final round North Texas shot a 17-over par, its best round of the tournament.
Sophomore Eji Kwon led the team, finishing tied for 53rd. Kwon had a rough start to the tournament with a first round score of 11-over par. After a slow start, she bounced back in the final round shooting 1-under par with three birdies.
Senior Maraea Durie finished in 79th while freshmen Abbi Shaddix and Nyca Khaw finished in 86th and 94th respectively.
The Mean Green will return to the course from Nov. 2-4 for its last tournament of the fall when it competes in the FIU Pat Bradley Invitational in Florida.
