Invite Governor Brown to Visit Fracking Affected Communities

Governor Jerry Brown recently said he believes fracking has “zero impacts” on California’s families and communities.

Citizens of Shafter, in Kern County, have banded together to tell the governor that he’s dead wrong.

In Shafter, fracking wells surround schools, churches, farms, and homes. Community members have suffered from severe headaches, nosebleeds, cancers, and other respiratory illnesses associated with oil and gas development.

Shafter is a largely Hispanic community. Environmental and social justice issues, air pollution, and water contamination already plague the entire region. Should Shafter, and other low-income communities be forced to serve as sacrifice zones?

Citizens of Shafter have invited the Governor to visit the home, and see firsthand what it is like to live with fracking in your backyard. Help bring Governor Brown back to reality!

TAKE ACTION: Invite Governor Brown to visit the communities near Shafter in Kern County, and experience what it is like to live with fracking.
