M2.2 earthquake in Azle last night.

The USGS recorded a M2.2 earthquake near Azle last night. Here is the  Event Page. If you felt the quake, please report it.

Rebecca Williams of Reno contacted me yesterday saying she was feeling slight tremors during the day. Reno is in the epicenter of the recent earthquake swarm and the Reno City Hall has sustained damage.

According to residents of Reno, there have been no water trucks recently at the XTO injection well on Ladybird Lane. But earthquakes can still occur several years after injection stops.

UPDATE: The epicenter for this quake was under Eagle Mountain Lake per WFAA news. What happens if the dam cracks?

There will be a meeting in Azle monday to share information about induced earthquakes and what people can do about them.

WHAT:
A meeting to find out how to force our “regulators” to do their jobs and protect our property and communities.

WHY:
The town hall meeting the Texas Railroad Commission held on January 2nd to discuss earthquakes connecting with hydraulic fracturing was disappointing.

While Azle residents are at risk and their children practice earthquake drills, our regulators ducked questions and dashed away from the meeting to watch a football game.

The RRC’s behavior at the town hall, and previously, shows they are not interested in overseeing the oil and gas industry so much as providing political cover for it.
