About Don Brown For Congress
A Message From Don
I am running to restore civility and cooperation to government. I believe there is common ground we should be able to find. The politics of division are doing their job, they are dividing this great country into sections. We should be looking to unite behind the idea that the Great American Dream can still exist.
The world looks to the United States for guidance on good governance and I believe we have lost our way. We all believe in what America promised our ancestors who risked much to come to this country. We are a nation built on religious and personal freedom. We have much to be proud of. We saw that slavery didn't fit the ideals of freedom and the forefathers of liberty spilled their blood to buy the freedom of those who had previously been enslaved. We as a nation looked at our mother, sisters and daughters and heard their voices for freedom and further expanded the fields of freedom to encompass all humans who lawfully are on these shores. We as a nation looked at those who were living in a 'separate but equal' environment and found them living separate but not being treated equal and we as a nation passed laws providing protections so that everyone could live equally because separation causes weakness.
As Texas' 14th District next Congressman, I will work hard to help strengthen Labor Unions! The union movement over the last 100 years has benefited all working people. Health benefits, safe working conditions, the 40 hour work week, and paid vacation time are among the many things we can all thank the Labor movement for. Strengthening Labor Unions means expanding the middle class, new job opportunities and more family wage paying jobs. I strongly support Collective Bargaining. I will vote with Labor on the issues of Collective Bargaining, Banning Striker Replacement, Davis-Bacon, Safety Standards, Fair Trade and increasing the minimum wage. I am a strong friend of Labor and will fight for the working men and women of Texas.
I want to go to the United States House of Representatives and represent those core values of freedom wherever they take us.
